Airbus and Lindo partner to pioneer cabin disinfection for helicopters (HEMS)
Share
Our Australian partner Lindo and Airbus Helicopters have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the integration of antimicrobial blue light disinfection technology into Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) platforms. The collaboration focuses on occupant-safe, continuous disinfection solutions for future aeromedical cabin environments.
The initial phase of the partnership will include feasibility studies, system integration, and validation of antimicrobial blue light solutions within Airbus Helicopters platforms, with a long-term vision toward certified aircraft integration.
Airbus highlighted the importance of improving cabin environments for HEMS crews and patients operating in demanding conditions, while Lindo emphasized the shared goal of reducing pathogen transmission during critical care transport.
At Spectral Blue, we are excited to see blue light disinfection technologies gaining recognition in advanced aviation and medical transport applications. Congratulations to the Lindo team on this important collaboration with Airbus.
