Michel Schmidt holds a Ph.D. from the University of Helsinki, where his research focused on viral proteins and protein complexes. He subsequently conducted research at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and at the University of Helsinki, within the Department of Biosciences at the Division of Biochemistry.

He has held various international and global commercial and market development positions at Agilent Technologies and Thermo Fisher Scientific, with a focus onproteomics, microbiology, and clinical diagnostics.

Since 2023, Schmidt has served as CEO of Spectral Blue (formerly known as LED Tailor), where he is leading the company’s strategic focus on high-intensity, multi-wavelength antimicrobial light technology and its application in demanding environments.

He is also one of the founding members of the Alliance for Sustainable Cleanrooms, an initiative focused on advancing more sustainable approaches to contamination control and cleanroom operation.

Karin Henricson has a Masters's degree in genetics from the University of Helsinki where she also worked as a genetics researcher. Before joining LED Tailor, she has worked in key sales and product specialist roles in Thermo Fisher Scientific and Labnet Oy.

Kirsi Saukkonen, Senior Specialist, Infectious Diseases, Spectral Blue

Kirsi holds a Ph.D. in clinical microbiology from the University of Helsinki. She has decades of experience in healthcare and disinfection industry and is a frequent speaker at healthcare events. Before joining LED Tailor, she worked with automatic disinfection technologies at a medical goods supplier company. She has also worked at Kiilto Oy as a development manager and led the Laboratory of Microbiology and Hygiene at University of Helsinki.

Bob has over a decade of experience spanning both commercial and scientific roles. Most recently, he worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific, serving the food, pharmaceutical, and clinical sectors in the Nordics. His earlier roles include QA/QC leadership and research engineering positions in complex food production environments, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both operational challenges and customer needs.
